Emergencies and disasters can severely impact producers, animals, and the food supply chain. Beyond animal disease outbreaks, livestock and poultry operations may face significant disruption from events such as fires, floods, power or utility failures, severe droughts, or transport accidents involving animals.

While these situations are often unpredictable, being prepared can help protect animal welfare, support business continuity, and speed up recovery after an event.
