WHAT'S ON THE AGENDA?

Rising Animal Welfare Expectations
Hear from Dr. Nina von Keyserlingk, Professor, NSERC Industrial Chair in Dairy Cattle Welfare, and Officer of the Order of Canada, as she presents Managing Change in Animal Welfare: Trade-Offs, Timelines, and Courage – exploring global strategies, practical approaches to influencing change on farm, and what it takes to move animal welfare forward. Then, listen into a thought-provoking panel examining the key forces shaping the future of farm animal welfare.

Evolving Canada’s Biosecurity Strategy
How can Canada move from shared priorities to coordinated action? Australian Chief Veterinary Officer Dr. Beth Cookson will explore Building National Alignment for Biosecurity, followed by Animal Health Australia CEO, Dr. Samantha Allan, on turning national biosecurity priorities into action.

Cybersecurity & Agro-Terrorism
The threats facing animal agriculture are evolving. Co-founder and director of the Bioeconomy Information Sharing and Analysis Center, Whitney Bowman-Zatzkin, will unpack cybersecurity, while Senior Program Manager with Global Affairs Canada's Weapons Threat Reduction Program, Trevor Smith, will explore biothreat reduction and preparedness.

The Growing Impact of Misinformation & Disinformation
Renowned author and misinformation expert Dr. Timothy Caulfield will take on the Knowledge Crisis: How Did We Get Here and What Can We Do? Veterinarian-turned-economist and internationally recognized One Health policy expert Dr. Guillaume Lhermie will examine how the information ecosystem can affect animal disease, economics and policy.

And we won’t stop at identifying the problem. A final interactive session will focus on practical tools for navigating and responding to misinformation.
