Code Managers play a pivotal role within the Code development process

The National Farm Animal Care Council’s Codes of Practice provide critical guidance for the care and handling of farm animals. They serve as a national understanding of animal care requirements and recommended practices.

The Codes of Practice are the result of a rigorous Code development process that considers the best science available for each farm animal species, compiled through an independent peer-reviewed report, along with stakeholder input.

The NFACC Code Manager plays a pivotal role within the Code development process. Working closely with the Chair of the Code Committee, Industry Liaison, and the NFACC Division Director, they must be able to facilitate deliberations in a way that allows each member of the Code Committee to communicate respectfully and be heard. They need to hear diverse views on a topic and synthesize multiple sources of information to capture the essence of what needs to be communicated.
