Biosecurity resources available to help smallholder producers keep their animals healthy

In collaboration with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency and the National Poultry Group, Animal Health Canada has released a suite of biosecurity resources tailored for smallholder and backyard poultry producers to support preparedness for Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI). These practical, easy-to-follow materials offer guidance on cleaning and disinfection, disease prevention, and keeping flocks healthy.

The resources are now available on the AHC website and can be shared through provincial networks, agricultural extension services, and community groups.
